A shortcut to the right driver for every device
Every piece of hardware in a Windows PC — the Wi-Fi card, the sound chip, the graphics card, even the tiny controller that manages USB ports — needs a driver to talk to the operating system. When one goes missing or falls behind, you get the familiar symptoms: no sound, dropping Wi-Fi, a flickering display or a yellow warning triangle in Device Manager.
Driver Easy automates the hunt. It reads the hardware IDs of your devices, matches them against a large catalogue of manufacturer drivers and shows you exactly which ones are missing, outdated or mismatched. What happens next depends on your plan: free users download and install drivers by hand, while Pro users let the app handle the whole process.
It is built by Easeware, a software company founded in 2009, and runs on Windows only.
Hardware it can detect
From scan to stable PC in four steps
The workflow is the same whether you use the free edition or Pro — only steps three and four change.
Install & launch
Run the installer, open the app and let it gather details about your hardware.
Scan now
One click compares every installed driver with the latest certified version available.
Review results
See which drivers are missing or outdated, with version numbers and release dates side by side.
Update
Download and install drivers individually, or press “Update All” with a Pro licence.
What you actually get
Six features matter in day-to-day use. Items tagged Pro need a paid licence or the trial.
Deep hardware scan
Identifies every connected device — including ones Windows labels as “Unknown device” — and checks each driver version in seconds.
One-click updatesPro
Downloads and installs every flagged driver in a single pass instead of visiting manufacturer sites one by one.
Backup & rollbackPro
Saves your current drivers and can roll a device back if a new version misbehaves. A Windows restore point is created first.
Offline scanPro
Scans a PC that has no internet (often because the network driver itself is missing) and lets you fetch the driver from another computer.
Driver uninstallPro
Cleanly removes stubborn or broken drivers so you can reinstall them from scratch.
Hardware information
Shows a detailed overview of CPU, memory, storage and device details — handy before buying upgrades or asking for help.
Where the free edition ends
The free route is genuinely usable — it just asks for more of your time.

What Driver Easy Pro costs in 2026
Pro is sold as a yearly subscription that renews automatically. The headline price for one PC has hovered around $29.95 per year, and the publisher regularly runs discounts on multi-PC bundles — so the three-PC plan is sometimes cheaper than the single-PC list price.
Two details are worth knowing before you pay: purchases are covered by a 30-day refund policy, and you can switch auto-renew off from your account at any time so you are not charged again unexpectedly. The Computer Repair Shop plan for technicians was discontinued from January 1, 2026.
| Plan | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Pro trial | Free for 7 days |
| Pro — 1 PC / 1 year | ≈ $29.95 – $39.95 |
| Pro — 3 PCs / 1 year | Often promoted at ≈ $29.95 |
| Pro — 10 PCs / 1 year | ≈ $99.95 |
Indicative prices only. Regional pricing, taxes and promotions vary — the checkout page always has the final figure.
The good, the less good
What we like
- Fast, accurate scan that also catches “Unknown devices”
- Creates a restore point and driver backup before changes
- Offline scan rescues PCs with no working network driver
- Clean, modern interface with dark mode since version 7
- Responsive support and a 30-day refund window
What to watch
- The convenient features sit behind a yearly subscription
- Auto-renew is on by default — note your renewal date
- A newer driver is not always a better one for your system
- Windows only — no macOS or Linux version
- GPU drivers are best taken straight from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel
Driver Easy is a legitimate, well-made tool that saves real time on PCs with many devices or awkward, older hardware. If your machine is new and Windows Update keeps it healthy, you probably do not need it. If you are rebuilding a PC or chasing an elusive missing driver, it is one of the easiest options available.

Quick answers
What is Driver Easy?
Driver Easy is a Windows utility from Easeware that scans the hardware in your PC, compares the installed drivers against its database and lists anything that is missing or out of date. You can then download the newer drivers manually or, with the Pro licence, install them in one click.
Does Driver Easy work on Windows 11?
Yes. Current 7.x releases support Windows 11 and Windows 10, and the publisher also lists Windows 8.1, 8 and 7. It does not run on macOS or Linux.
Is Driver Easy free?
There is a no-cost way to use it: the scan is free and drivers can be downloaded and installed manually. Automatic one-click updates, backups, rollback, offline scan and support belong to the paid Pro plan, which can be tried for 7 days. See our Free vs Pro guide for details.
How much does Driver Easy Pro cost?
At the time of writing, a one-PC Pro licence is listed at around $29.95 per year, with multi-PC bundles and frequent promotions. Prices vary by region and change often, so always confirm the final figure on the checkout page.
Is Driver Easy safe to use?
The application itself is legitimate, digitally signed software from a company that has been around since 2009. The real risk with any driver updater is installing a driver that does not suit your hardware, which is why you should keep restore points on. Read our full safety review.
Do I even need a driver updater?
Not always. Windows Update and your PC maker's support tool cover most people. A tool like Driver Easy earns its place when you have older or unusual hardware, a freshly reinstalled system with missing drivers, or no time to visit a dozen manufacturer websites.
